Red Plaid Coat & Black Boots

Hope everyone enjoyed their extra hour of sleep! This household certinaly needed an extra hour of sleep for all the traveling,  sightseeing and planning we'll be doing in the next few days.

Soooo...the day has finally come. I'm going to try on my first wedding gown. We have two appointments today. My mom, mother in law, and best friend (maid of honor) are so excited to see me in a wedding dress. It's going to be a lot of fun trying on several different dresses.

Today's outfit post is a perfect fall outfit. Simple and colorful. I wore a black sweater and black jeans under the coat. The plaid coat really speaks for itself. You may ask why I decided on a cognac bag instead of black, I sometimes like to mix non-traditional colors. Check out this awesome coat worn by Gwen Stefani. She's one of my fashion icos. Love her effortless style.

Ok, I'm off to go try on dresses! Enjoy the rest of your day. I'll keep you updated on the dresses.

Wedding Gown Inspirations

Hi everyone! This morning my mom and future mother-in-law flew in from Missouri and we've already started looking at wedding gowns. There are so many choices when looking for wedding gowns. Who knew??? My head might start to spin when I walk in a room with 1,000 white to off-white wedding gowns. Looking forward to enjoying a few mimosas before the festivities!

We're having a small wedding in Mexico at a Catholic Chapel in downtown Playa del Carmen. Although we're having a destination wedding we wanted to have a formal ceremony and reception. Since we're getting married in Mexico and I'm half Mexican I wanted a Spanish style dress and veil to go along with my heritage and the location. The Oscar de la Renta gown is beautiful! I love the long lace veil (minus the veil being elevated off her head).  If anyone has any recommendations on Spanish style wedding gowns, please let me know! I've looked at hundreds of dresses online and in magazines and I still haven't found "the one".

Basic Black Top & Houndstooth Trousers

Hi everyone! Friday has finally arrived. It's a rainy morning in New York City. Hope you had a good Halloween. I managed to catch a cold on Wednesday, so we stayed home. We cooked dinner and enjoyed pumpkin pie for dessert. This weekend my mom, future mother-in-law and maid of honor are coming in town and we're wedding dress shopping! Everyone is so excited, myself included! We have four appointments setup, one being at Kleinfeld Bridal where they film "Say Yes to the Dress".  When I made the appointment, they actually ask you if you'd like to be on the show! I declined, however I'm looking forward to the experience. I'll be posting photos on my Instagram if you'd like follow along.

As for today's outfit, this is a typical outfit I wear to business meetings. Earlier this week I had a meeting across town and wanted to be comfortable while taking a cab and walking a few blocks. I usually pack a pair of flats with me, but today I didn't need to put them on because these wedges are comfortable enough to walk around NYC. The support in the heels and the strap maintain support when walking. The houndstooth pants are a good alternative to black trousers and the black Express top is flattering to a woman's body with a v-neck collar.

While taking pictures we had two of the cutest photobomers! There names were Charlotte and Wilbur (can you name that book?) and they were the sweetest long haired dachshunds I've met in my life.
