Winter Layering & Fur Headband

Good morning! Today is our last blogger collaboration, I think we all can agree that the last six week have been a lot of fun together! For our last trend, we're featuring layering. In the winter I'm a big fan of layering, always looking to stay warmer during this time of the year. Typically I end up with a few thin layers and a chunky sweater (as seen in today's post). I really like when people put plaid under sweaters and add a cute sweater wrap. Over the years I've gotten better at layer, but it's taking time.

Today's outfit has been a weekend uniform the last few weeks. Whenever I need to go shopping or run errands, I throw on the most comfy sweater I can find, leggings and my flat boots.  My fur headband also tags along, it gives my outfit a special touch!

New York Engagement Photos :: Part I

Good morning everyone. I'm so happy to be back. I've missed you! So now that I'm back, I'm excited to share our engagement photos with you. This is Part 1 one of the photos. I've had lots of family, friends and readers ask to see our photos, so I thought the best way for everyone to see as many pics as possible, I'd break it up in two parts.

When we got engaged in July, we knew we wanted to take photos in two places; Grand Central and Central Park. These are two of our favorite places in New York. While scouring the internet one night and three glasses of wine deep, I came across beautiful photos in Grand Central. I quickly clicked through t to find the mastermind behind these photos...Angelica Criscuolo Photography. After a few phone calls, I knew she was the one!

One early Saturday morning in October, we met in front of Grand Central and the party started! From the first shot, she amazed me with her expertise and ability interact with both of us behind the camera. Three hours later we wrapped up the session and we got hundreds of beautiful memories all over New York.

Deciding on what to wear was really difficult. I felt my outfit needed to be fashionable and trendy. While getting my nails done, a good friend asked me, "Do you really want berry color nail? Don't you want something timeless and classic? Like red?"

That's how I decided to go with this basic black dress and nude heels. The outfit was elegant and classy and didn't take away from "us". I'd highly recommend having a solid color dress. I know it seems boring, but that's why you have Instagram and Facebook! Post all your bright colorful patterns on those pages. Keep it simple.

Hope you enjoyed the photos! Next Monday I'll post the second set of photos.

10 Home Decor Pieces by Jonathan Adler at JCPenneys

10 Home Decor Pieces by Jonathan Adler at JCPenneys

Good morning everyone! Hope you had a good weekend. This weekend my fiance and I traveled to Chicago for my birthday. We spent time with one of my best friends from college, watched football and enjoyed delicious Chicago pizza. Last night we went to the Monday Night Football game in Chicago...I can't remember the last time I was that cold! We're traveling back to New York right now and I'm looking forward to a relaxing rest of the week.

Tomorrow is officially my birthday! I have plans to go shopping and have a nice dinner. As for the rest of the week I'm going prepare for the Holiday Party I'm hosting with a few other bloggers, continue planning my wedding and finish up a busy work week. I'm also going to take a few days off from Corporate Catwalk. Next week I plan on posting our engagement photos, so be sure to come back next Monday and see what's new on the blog.

As for today's post, last week I posted on Instagram a pic of my new elephant lamps from JCPenneys. So many people were surprised that the lamp came from JCPenney's, so I wanted to share a few other pieces that you might fall in love with from the Jonathan Adler collection at JCP! His collection is  chic, with a mid-century twist, which go perfectly with my apartment. Needless to say, I'm a huge fan of his collection. The blue curtains were just purchased! I'm so excited to add them to the apartment.
