Goodbye Winter | Belted Coat + Grey Midi Skirt

Welcome to the first day of spring! Today's outfit post is not indicative of the date, because the weather has been painfully cold in New York. The good news, I've been getting a lot of wear out of my winter clothing! 

Today's outfit I'm wearing my snakeskin top (which I wore here), my grey midi and Valentino heels. What do you think about the belt on the coat? Last year I bought this Dolce & Gabbana belt from The RealReal and haven't found a good way to incorporate it in my wardrobe.  This coat has the tendency to come unbuttoned, so the belt was a good option to keep me bundled up!

As we transition into spring, it's always important to have a crisp white shirt hanging in your closet. The white button down is a staple for my wardrobe, I've worn it here, here and here. My favorite is the light crepe blouse from Express, however having a cotton button down in your wardrobe is always a good option. White button downs work great for a casual Friday. You can wear it with skinny jeans and head out to meet friends after work. While most people opt for a black top, white stands out and gives you a fresh and polished look. Wearing Striped Crop Top + Bold Red Skirt

My closet mainly consists of stripes and solid color pieces. I've found that these pieces can easily be transition from you work wear to daily wear. Today's outfit is a great example of mixing these pieces.

Although this outfit isn't something I would wear to the office, I would wear it with a oversize top (like here) and the looks is ready to wear to your 9-5. This look is perfect for a date or meeting friends for dinner. The booties give it a trendy and updated look (here a office look wearing these heels). A classic black pumps, like these, would make this outfit perfect to meet the parents or go to Sunday brunch.
