When I first started blogging, Nicolette Mason was one of the first bloggers I would follow and read her blog daily. I love her style and her voice as a woman. A smart, ambitious, beautiful and outspoken woman. A few days ago, she reposted a video from BuzzFeed. The caption read, "If People Were Honest About Women's Bodies". Being a feminist, yes I said it. I know that word offends people. Instead, it should really empower women. I digress.

After watching the video, I could relate with so many "comments" made by each man and woman. But two stood out to me. The fourth woman, who says, "Literally everything that I don't like about the way you look is a projection about what I don't like about myself". Note to self, people project. Also the second to last woman, she says while looking in the mirror, "I've been conditioned to be critical of myself and to use self deprecation as a coverup so people don't think I'm conceded. But the truth is, I look amazing." Thank heavens! Someone finally said it. Ladies and gentlemen, don't be critical. You look amazing. Seriously, you do. The next time someone gives you a compliment, keep your head high and say thank you!

Have a good weekend and don't be so hard on yourself. You look great!

Karen Walker Sunglasses
Kendra Scott Bracelet c/o

When I first spotted this dress at Anthropologie, I immediately began to imagine how many different ways I could wear this dress during the fall. I pictured myself wearing this dress with over the knee boots, a cropped sweater or a jeweled belt. Much to my surprise, this was actually a great dress to add to my work wardrobe. The conservative, yet trendy pattern looked great with nude pumps. The grey tote gave this outfit a casual look.  However, a structured bag can give this outfit a more professional appeal.

Back to these DvF heels...

Lately, I've found myself wearing these nude heels with almost every outfit I own. Especially when I wear midi skirts or dresses. These nude pointed toe heels make me look taller, which I absolutely love! If I were to only own one pair of shoes, these are the shoes I'd own.

Here are a few tricks on how to look taller with nude pointed-toe heels:
1. Opt for heels closest to your complexion. It makes your legs look longer and slimmer. Check out this great post from Yael Steren, on why nude heels are a "must have".
2. Wear pointed toe heels over rounded toe or ankle strapped heels. The point in the heels make your feet look longer, thus making your legs look taller.

Here are a few more tips from WhoWhatWear and StyleCaster on ways to appear taller.

Hope you enjoyed the post and see you back on Friday!
