Good morning everyone! Hope you had a good weekend. This weekend we had guests in town, so we  got to eat at some of our favorite places in the city. Anytime we can make an excuse to go to DUMBO to eat Grimaldi's pizza and indulge delicious chocolate chip cookies from Jacques Torress, it's always a good weekend! 

This season I've been doing a lot of layering and these J.Crew blazers have been key to my looks. I've worn these blazers to the office, wedding rehearsals and strolling around the city.  The high collar is one of my favorite characteristics about the blazer. Instead of the traditional collar, the high collar gives you a slightly preppy look. It also gives you a more "put together" appearance, opposed to some blazer that can make a women's appearance look a little stiff. 

Try a similar look at the office with a button down shirt, cardigan and blazer. It's a great way to stay warm on your commute to work and deal with the ever-change temperatures in the office.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Early Sunday morning we returned to New York after a fun weekend in the suburbs of Chicago. One of my best friends from college got married at Hotel Baker in St. Charles. Her wedding was beautiful. I loved the flowers she picked for her fall themed wedding. I posted a few photos on my Instagram page. 

Today I'm wearing a drop waist dress from H&M with a jeweled belt. For the most part, I try and stay away from these types of dresses because they don't give my body any shape. I threw on the belt to show off my waist and break up the busy pattern on the dress. Of course, I'm wearing my favorite gray coat. Eventually I'll add another coat to my wardrobe, but this coat has gone with so many of outfits this season.

Whenever J.Crew has it's next sale, I'm thinking about purchasing either this coat or this coat. I love the quality of their winter pieces. If you're on the lookout for coats, check out J.Crew or Zara.
