Dress - Banana Republic
Bag - J.Crew
Sandals - Kate Spade
Sunglasses - House of Harlow

A few weeks ago I wore this outfit to a company bbq. The look seemed appropriate for a "backyard" work event. When I'm invited to events outside of the office, I'm very conscious of what I'm wearing. As much as I wanted to wear wedges to the bbq (to mitigate comments like, "You're so tiny."), I opted for a summer sandal. It seem more appropriate. These jeweled sandals are by Kate Spade.  I picked them up when Lord & Taylor was having a 70% off sale. They're on sale right now, but keep an eye out for an end of summer sale at Lord & Taylor. They always have a great selection of shoes.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. We're waking up early for Summer Streets with Batman on Saturday, then heading to the Long Beach. On Sunday, I'm helping a friend clean out her closet and upload photos to Poshmark. I'm a little relentless when I go through closets, so this is going to be fun to see everything she has tucked away in her NYC apartment.

Top - 1.State on sale! (similar at Anthropologie)
Skirt - J.Crew sold out in yellow
Heels - Zara old (save & splurge)
Watch - Nixon

Most of these pieces I'm wearing in today's post you've probably seen elsewhere on Corporate Catwalk. A few weeks ago I wore this top here and last October I wore the pencil skirt with a peplum blazer. These Zara heels I continue to get tons of wear on a weekly basis, along with my Fendi bag (best work purchase, yet!).

By now, we've all noticed that the guys at the office have mastered the gingham button down. Not wanting to copy their style 100%, I thought this top was a good alternative. This fun and flirty top is a great way to incorporate a printed blouse into your work wardrobe while still feeling professional. I love the sleeves on this top, I typically wear it with white denim pants or shorts. Yesterday I picked up a similar style top from Zara. This top can also be worn at the office (with an undershirt) or no undershirt for a night out with your girlfriends.

You've probably noticed, I'm a huge fan of the J.Crew pencil skirt. My only complaint about pencil skirts, is that by the time I walk to work, my skirt has rotated half way around my waist. Does anyone have any good tricks or tips to keep your skirt from moving throughout the day?

One last thing, this Fendi bag was a huge investment piece when I originally purchased it in July 2013, but I can say with confidence that I've worn it over 500 times in the last two years. That seem excessive, but I use it everyday to work. It's similar to a man's briefcase. It fits my laptop, charger, mouse, wallet, makeup, extra shoes and several other tidbits to the office and when I travel for work. If you're seriously thinking about investing in a designer bag this season, take a look at the Fendi 2Jour. Since the bag is a few years old, check out consignment shops like TheRealReal and Poshmark. Both have an authenticity process making it safe and secure to buy designer bags online.

Have a great start to the week!

Hope everyone had a good start to the week. Sharing a shirtdress that is very versatile and can be worn for many occasions. This particular time, I wore this dress with a belt but it can also be worn with the drawstring for a more fitted look. Over Mother's Day, I wore this to family photos with Michael Kors wedges. For an office look, I wore this with nude sandals and a tote. For those not familiar with Maison Jules, it's a French inspired clothing line available at Macy's. As a long time customer of Macy's, Maison Jules is an affordable brand that creates fun, flirty pieces for any occasion.

Although summer is half way over, these three inch sandals from Banana Republic are a professional open toe sandal for the office. The short heel makes it manageable to wear all day at the office and nude goes with almost any summer outfit. These sandals also come in black, animal print, gunmetal and color block.

Love this crocheted chambray dress, embroidered drawstring dress and this printed wrap dress.

Dress - Maison Jules 20% off
Sunglasses - Banana Republic
Watch - Nixon
