A Wardrobe Refresh Giveaway with Affinity

After years of working for technology companies, I try my best to keep a pulse on tech, especially Fashion Tech startups. Not only am I am impressed by the entrepreneur women who've pioneered this marketplace, but also fascinated how my life has changed because of fashion tech startups!

Recently I met one of the women leading the fashion tech revolution, Abigail Holtz – a former Google Gal and the mastermind behind a bunch of fashion tech apps including Boutiques.com, Google Catalogs and Glamour's Ask a Stylist. She told me all about her latest venture, Affinity, and invited me to try it out.

Affinity is a personalized shopping service that introduces you to clothing you'll love. They learn your style and send weekly fashion recommendations to your inbox - from hundred of stores and thousands of brands and designers. Affinity listens and learns. They begin by sending you an email of recommended pieces. You can rate your recommendations by scoring each piece from Love to Hate. Based on the information you give them, they refine your profile and send you more personalized recommendations. It’s pretty genius!

Right now Affinity is hosting an amazing giveaway – A $1000 Wardrobe Refresh in partnership with 5 other female-founded work-chic brands: AELLA, Poppy Barley, GRACESHIP, Of Mercer and Career Contessa! For 9-5 working women, this is a great way to refresh your wardrobe and add new work wear pieces for the upcoming season. Enter here and pass along to all your friends who’d like a chance to win!

In today’s outfits post I’m wearing the incredible comfortable black trousers from Aella. When I first tried on these trousers I was blown away by the fit of the pants. I’m petite, so I was pleasantly surprised that they fit perfectly. These pants can be worn to work or with your favorite tennis shoes.

The oxfords are from Poppy Barley. If you’re not familiar with the site, check them out and read the story behind the women who are pioneering the way we manufacture shoes. Each pair is meticulously crafted in León, Mexico. From the intricate design on the bottom of the soles to the fine stitching around the shoes, these shoes are made with LOVE.

I’m also wearing a blouse from Of Mercer. This is the perfect top to be worn under blazer and cardigans – both lightweight and durable. We all know white tops can be tricky to wear to work. Everything seems to stain your blouse and they’re typically see-through. The Of Mercer blouse is different! Not only will you be surprised by the fit of the blouse, but also how well it’s made.

Sharing something a little different today. Here are three ways how to wear a striped button down and dark denim. I guilting of having nothing to wear, but it's not necessarily having more clothes, it's about having the right accessories.

I recently added the J.Crew Bucket Bag and Steve Madden Heels to my closet. Both can be worn with floral dresses, jeans and work trousers.

What to Wear to Work | Pencil Skirt + Blazer

Black pencil skirt_Grey Blazer_1

It's Monday morning and I can't figure out what to wear, not to mention I don't feel like fixing my hair. For those of mornings, this is what I wear to work -- pencil skirt, blazer, cami and  my hair is a loose bun. It seems a little dressed up for a Monday, but it's the best way for me to jump into work.

If you're going to get overdressed during the workwear, do it on a Monday. While your colleagues may be feeling the hangover from the weekend, get dressed up and put a big smile on your face. You're guaranteed to have a productive start to the week.

This outfit might look familiar, last year I wore something similar here. As you can see, it's easy to transition your work pieces to an evening outfit. Blazers are my favorite accessories and I love wearing them out in the city, if blazers are not your style for an evening look, switch out the blazer for a cropped leather jacket (similar to these looks here, here & more casual here).
