The fresh cool air has been a pleasant change in New York. As much as I love summer vacations and days at the beach, Fall is my favorite season. There's something about waking up late on the weekend to a chilly apartment and the smell of fall. There are the things that warm my heart.

With the change of weather, I'm trying to figure out how to transition some of my favorite pieces for fall and winter.  Like this printed dress, for example. I love wearing it to the office and on the weekend. I imagine I can wear this look with tights, but I'll have to experiment with the color and types of shoes. That's the hardest part about cold weather and office looks. Finding something to wear to work that isn't black. This year I'm going to try navy tights and navy heels. It's uncharted territory for me, but I need to get more creative with my office looks this season. Another way to make the most of your work wardrobe is to wear over the knee boots with long pencil skirts. For my style, I typically don't wear over the knee boots with short skirts to the office. I try and make sure my legs are covered when I wear boots to work.

As for today's look,  I've had several people ask me about my sleeveless coats. These coats are great to wear over a long sleeve shirt or sweater, but they can also be worn to layer over a lightweight coat. Also, this season I'm embracing this rich wine color. I love the way it looks with navy and black, so you'll be seeing more of this coat this season!

What to Wear to Work | Structured Dress

It's the last week of the quarter and I'm looking forward to a busy and exciting week at work. After several end of quarters, I've learned that having my outfits planned the night before helps me manage my stress level. Not knowing what to wear in the morning is kind of a domino effect, at least for me. I can't find anything to wear, which causes me to run late to work and this doesn't give me enough time to enjoy my coffee before heading off to work. We all know this story. Feeling rushed at the start of your day.

I've found that having staple dresses like the one I'm wearing in today's post will help with your morning routine. Structured dresses are a great way to think as little as possible on what to wear to work and still look polished. This dress is no longer available online, but I've seen it in stores since I purchased it a few weeks ago.

Also, I'm testing out a few apps to help me plan my outfits; Stylebook and Closet+. It can take some time to get started on either app, but if you take the time to take photos of your key pieces in your closet, I think it can be a good use of your time. Here's an article that compares 5 fashion apps to help digitize your closet.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

During the Bloomingdale's Friends and Family sale, I found these petite flared denim, made by Paige. I love the dark wash and the high waisted style, especially for my curvy body. Last spring, I wore this cropped sweater with a pleated white skirt. Every season, I add a few sweaters to my wardrobe. I try and stay with solid colors or neutral patterns to get the most wear out of my purchases. Club Monaco isn't the most inexpensive option, but the sweaters are versatile and of incredible quality.
