Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend! Yesterday Matt surprised be with a "date day" in the city.  Our day started with renting bikes and riding along the West Side highway. We were amazed with all the beautiful parks and cute restaurants along the way. Then we headed over to Central Park and rode through the park for a few hours. Afterwards we dropped off the bikes and we headed to our hotel facing Central Park. We stayed at the Park Lane Hotel. I highly recommend this hotel if you want a view of Central Park.  After a day of riding bikes it was necessary to get a crepe and carrot cake, so we popped in the Plaza Food Court to have a bite to eat before dinner. If you're ever in NYC and near Central Park, stop by the Plaza Food Court. They have so many yummy desserts!

We took a few hours to relax and  look over beautiful Central Park. Then headed to dinner at Quality Meats. It's our favorite place to eat in the city. We're both from the Midwest, so we're steak and potato lovers. The steak is cooked perfectly, Every. Single. Time. Afterwards we went to Momofuku Milk Bar. For those who live in NYC probably know this place for their cereal milk. Do you remember that taste after eating captain crunch, this place makes soft serve ice cream that taste like cereal milk. It's a must try if you're in the area. This time we skipped the ice cream, but we did try a delicious confetti cookie.

We both had an amazing time yesterday. The next time you're in NYC, be sure to check out a few of these places, you won't be disappointed!

Now, back to business...today I wanted to share this amazing sweater I picked up from the GAP (got it in all three colors). In the summer I'm always in need of the perfect sweater. One you can wear when you go the lake or the beach late at night or just lounge around the house, in the air condition. This sweater fits perfectly and looks great with shorts or skinny jeans for a causal summer look. It's very light and airy, so you won't warm up too quickly.

With the 4th of July right around the corner, I wanted to share a few outfits that would look great when you're with friends and family. We still haven't decided what we're going to do for the long weekend, but I'm crossing my fingers for a trip to the beach.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. We're ending our weekend on a high note. My husband surprised me today with a NYC staycation. I'm looking for a day out in the city and staying the night in fluffy white sheets! Keep an eye on my Instagram, I'll be sharing a few photos.

Mules. What are your thoughts? To buy or pass? I've been asking myself this question for months. Mules remind me so much of my mother, which isn't a bad thing, but I can still remember as a young girl my mom wearing mules. She'd always look so stylish in her mules while heading off to work or making a trip to the grocery store. They were her favorite.

In one of many attempts to purchase mules I'd try on the shoe, walk around and store and always end up putting them back on the shelf. When trying a new trend there are so many unknowns. How will I wear this? Will this look ridiculous on me? Can I really pull this off? and most importantly, How long will this be in style? There have been times when I bought the latest trend  and the following week it was already out of style. That's how I felt about mules...

It wasn't till a few weeks ago I finally decided to pull the trigger (on two pairs) while Zara was having their summer sale. When I brought them home I was excited to have them join my shoe collect. I will admit I'm still trying to figure out how to wear them with my wardrobe, but overall I think they're a great piece to add to your collection. It should be interesting to see how long they're in style. I'm sure in a few years I'll look back at this post and wonder why I ever wore mules. Till then, I'm looking forward to wearing the trend this season.

Last night I had the pleasure of co-costing the NYC Poshmark event. We had such an amazing time. The Poshmark family always knows how to throw amazing parties. They had hundreds of people attend and rumor has it, it's their best turnout in PoshParty history! There were four other amazing fashion bloggers who hosted the event Martha of MDollNYC, Sarah of House and Sequins, Jen of Skirt the Rules and Naty of A Love Affair with Fashion. Here are a few photos from the event. I managed to get my VP of Operations (aka my husband) join me at the event.

Thanks again to everyone who showed up at the event. For those of you who have questions about Poshmark and how it work, please feel free to email me. I'm a huge fan of Poshmark. I've be able t sell so many things from my closet on Poshmark, which is great because I turnaround to buy something new for my closet! Viscous cycle.

Download the free Poshmark app for iPhone, iPad and Android. When you signup use code HPADM and get a $5 credit on your next purchase. Keep an eye on my Poshmark closet because 99% of everything I wear on my blog ends up on Poshmark.

Simple Black + White

BW_4 BW_6 BW_3 BW_5 BW_2 BW_1

For months I've been on the lookout for the perfect white button up shirt for work. As a women, finding a button up shirt that is somewhat flattering and comfortable for you body can be difficult. I tried on shirts from every department store to J.Crew, Banana, Zara. None of the store had a shirts that fit my body type. The arm length couldn't be too long, shirt must be fitted and have a little stretch within the fabric. All my requirements for a simple white shirt seemed a little extreme, but I knew if I could find the perfect shirt I'd be able to put together so many more outfits in my closet. While shopping at Ann Taylor I tried on their fitted stretch shirt and it fit me perfectly! What's so great about the shirt is that it comes in petite sizes. I opted to get a regular size 0, it's great to have the option to have a more tailored shirt in the future.

Now that you have the perfect button down, here's a post on five necklaces you can wear with your crisp shirt!

Pencil skirts have always been one of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe. They're so simple to wear with button up shirts to the office or a tee shirt after work. Last week I picked up this faux leather skirt from Zara during their annual sale. I have it in two other colors, here & here. While searching through the internet, I managed to find one similar from Neiman Marcus

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Thursday at the PoshMark event in NYC. Check out more details here

Jumpsuits and rompers are one of the easiest trends to master this summer. What's so great about this trend is that it doesn't require to much thinking when putting together an outfit. You can dress up a jumpsuit with heels or throw on gladiator sandals for a more comfortable look. What I'd recommend when looking for the perfect jumpsuit, make sure it fits you correctly. This romper is one of the few that fits me really well. I opt for sleeveless cropped rompers. This way I don't have to alter anything before wearing. The romper I'm wearing in today's post I picked up from TJ. Maxx for $16.99! This is one of those purchases that I'll continue to wear throughout the summer.
