shades of blue

Top: Express, Pants: Hinge (Nordstroms), Heels: Nastygal, Sunnies: DYNY, Clutch: boutique in NY, Necklace: Nordstroms

Last night I attended a Poshmark event in SF.  If you haven't downloaded the app, do it right now! You'll find so many great items on the app and you can also make money.  I cleaned out my closet and made a few extra dollars to refresh my closet.  The Founder and CEO, Manish, is such a great entrepreneur.  He is also the founder of Kaboodle...some of you may remember.  It's amazing that he came up with this app and it has grown so quickly in the last year.  I've also had the pleasure of meeting Stephanie Palmeri, who is a Priciple at SoftTechVC and is part of the founding team and took part of one of the first Posh Parties!  I wish the Poshmark team the best of success in the future.

Hope you enjoy the app.  If you ever have questions, feel free to email me.  I'd be happy to give anyone advice on buying and selling on Poshmark.

gold & black love

Sweater: Macy's (similar here), Skirt: Nordstroms (similar here) Heels: Zara (similar here) , Bag: Coach, Necklace: TJ Maxx

There's nothing I love more than finding something on sale. This sweater was one of my lastest finds
at Macy's.  One evening after work I did a little shopping and I found this beautiful sweater on the super duper sale rack.  It was a total of $8.  I almost bought all 5 of them! This sweater will look great with anything! The skirt is from Nordy's and thought they'd look good together.  Black and gold is always a good combination.

Are you a fan of the sale rack or do you pass up? I always seem to find a good deal, but it takes a moment!

add more shine with kérastase elixir ultime masque

On my last visit to the salon I begged my stylist to give me all her tips to help condition my hair.  Obviously she suggested to get my split ends cut and put in Kerastase Elixier Ultime Beautifying Oil-Enriched Masque.  I've been using it every 2-3 weeks for the past two months.  I wanted to share my experience with the product, hopefully others will find it useful.

Here's a before and after on using the Kerastase.  Both sets of pictures were taken right after blow drying my hair, now straighter or curling iron. I have naturally curly hair and it tends to get really frizzy...all of the time.  So I usually curl my hair in the morning to get rid of the friz.  The masque can be a little heavy on the hair, so it's not recommend to use it that often, especially if you have oily hair.  It's also recommended that to only use it on the lower ends of the hair.  I used the masque all over my hair, because I have frizz all over!

The masque is relatively easy to use.  When showering use the treatment on hair, try to get out as much water as possible, then put in hair.  I comb through my hair and then put it in a bun and let sit for 5-10 minutes. My favorite part of the treatment is the floral smell of the masque. I can really see the difference when I curly my hair.  As you can see in the pictures below, the hair is more conditioned and healthy.

I'd highly recommend, especially for the summer when we experience a lot of damage to our hair.  The masque is $30-$65 (pending where you order).  If I were to guess, I'd say there are about 25 treatments in the jar.

Hair after masque and being curled.  No makeup! Keep your eyes on the hair ;)

mi casa es tu casa

Top: asos, Pants: Zara; Heels: Ralph Lauren, Blazer: Macy's, Satchel: Cambridge Satchel

One of my favorite trends right now is graphic tees. I found this great tee on asos and I'm obsessed.  This is one of my favorite sayings. I'm half Mexican and also from the Midwest, so it's only natural to open your house to those you love.  Have you dabbled in the graphic tees or are you sticking with the white and grey t-shirts?

Here are a few photos from the photo shoot this weekend with Lydia Hudgens.  This is one of my favorite outfits right now. It's casual, but can be dressed up with a cute up-do and earrings.  Perfect for a night out in the city.

neon lights in the city

Dress: Urban Outfitters (similar here), Heels: Vince Camuto, Necklace: Charlotte Russe (similar here), Bracelets: ALDO
This weekend I had the pleasure of shooting with Lydia Hudgens.  I'm sure you've seen her work before.  She's now a New Yorker, but once upon a time she lived in San Francisco.  We took photos in the Presidio, it's one of my favorite places in the city.  The most beautiful houses and manicured landscapes. After taking photos with Lydia, Mr. Matt and I took pictures for Framework Magazine.  If you haven't heard of them, you gotta check them out.  The Founder and CEO, Bria, is such an inspiration. Following her dreams and making them happen one day at a time.

This neon dress is still one of my favorite pieces in my closet.  The bright color, the texture in the skirt, the slits....I could go on.  Originally I was going for bohemian chic, but I quickly realized that it's not my style, so I switched back to a classic and simple style.

fashion tech night

Dress: INC (similar here), Heels: Steve Madden,  Blazer: Macy's (similar here), Bag: ALDO, Sunnies: DKNY

Last night my wonderful boyfriend/photographer accompanied me to a Fashion Tech conference in downtown San Francisco.  The women of Third Ware Fashion held a "Founders Tell All" event.  They had amazing speakers.  Not sure where to start, but here I go...Brian Sugar, CEO of PopSugar, Lindsey Guest, CEO & Founder of Beauty Army, Aubrie Pagano, CEO of Bow & Drape, Stephanie Palmeri, Principal at SoftTechVC, Colin Stuart, Co-founder & CTO of Betabrand

It was great to hear about their personal storeis and how they have created successful companies in the Bay Area.  My personal favorite was Stephanie Palmeri.  She's a young and successfuly Principal at SotfTechVC, which is a large VC company in SIlicon Valley.  The best part about listening to her speak was learning about her involvement with PoshMark.  One of my favorite sites.  If you're not a part of PoshMark, you should check it out.

The crochet dress my mother gave me is still one of my favorite.  I thought the $10 jacket I got from Macy's would look great with it (yep, only $10 found it on super sale when I went there in Kansas City).  Thank goodness for sale items.  I've received a lot of compliments. Two of them being from fashionable men, that's always a good sign.
