Spring showers have arrived and I'm so excited to start wearing pastels and florals! As much as I love wearing the "New York uniform" (of all black), it's so nice to freshen up your outfits with a touch of color. During the fall I wore a similar outfit, but the pink crop top gives this look a completely different look for the office. What I love most about this top is that it can be worn so many different ways. The next time I wear this top outside the office I'm going to wear it with skinny black jeans and strappy heels.

Casual Weekend | Cropped Sweater + Skinny Jeans

Hope everyone is having a good weekend, the rain has finally stopped and we were able to snap a few photos. Last month I picked up this sweater from H&M and it's quickly become my "go to" weekend sweater. The white collared shirt looked great with the cropped sweater and skinny jeans. It's a great casual look for the weekend.  When I need to run around the city I put on tall flat boots and I'm out the door for hours.

Five Ways to Wear a Black Pencil Skirt Outside of the Office

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Spring has finally arrived in NYC...let's just say we're being blessed with lots and lots of spring showers. While at home enjoying a few glasses of wine, I wanted to put together a few outfits that you can wear with your traditional black pencil skirt. Work wear clothes can sometimes get a bad reputation, but don't be too quick to put aside your work pieces when heading out for the night. Here are five outfits idea that you can incorporate your traditional black pencil skirt.

The sleeves are a great touch to the top, because it's a sleeveless top, but doesn't show as much of your arm (or at least it gives that perspective).

What to Wear to Work | Button Down with Jeweled Collar

In the past I've never been a big fan of cotton shirts, after trying on this shirt from Ann Taylor, my perspective has changed! It's all about finding the right collar shirt for the office. This one in particular is soft, light weight and not too tight in my bust. The powder blue and jeweled collar go with so many pieces in my wardrobe. I opted to roll up the sleeves since I'm wearing pants. This shirt would also go great with your favorite boyfriend jeans (similar to this outfit) or pair it with your favorite pencils skirt (like here). Since spring is right around the corner, it would also look great by layers it with any color lightweight sweater.

What to Wear to Work | Blush Dress + Gold Accents

Good morning! Over the weekend I took advantage of the sale at Ann Taylor and picked up a few pieces to add to my work wardrobe. Whenever there's a 40%-50% sale, it's a great time to update your wardrobe. Most retailers have big sales, once a month. So try and hold out if you're trying to stretch your dollar. If you miss a few pieces, other cute pieces will always be available! 

This dress is great piece to add to your spring work wardrobe. When I tried on the dress, I was a little hesitant about the sleeves, but flared ruffles added a feminine look to the dress. Working in a corporate office, I try and keep my jewelry to a minimum. If I were to wear this outside the office, a long gold necklace (like this) would look great with the outfit. You can also throw on a black blazer for a more conservative look.

Casual Weekend | Faux Fur Vest + Wide Leg Jeans

Hope everyone is having a good weekend! New York got a glimpse of spring on Saturday and the entire city was out enjoying the weather. We spent Saturday morning walking around Central Park and then we enjoyed some delicious food at the Plaza Food Hall. If you're ever in NYC, near Central Park, stop by the Plaza Food Hall it's a sight to see and they have so many decadent desserts!
